Matt又再度上考場了！

不過....應該說運氣不好嘛還是....

Writing的部份幾乎考前全部的類別的題目幾乎都準備好了

只有資訊類的題目沒準備, 因為當下Matt覺得資訊類的題目還算好寫

結果！！

考提出來就跟資訊類組相關阿！！

真的是考運不好......

本來已經被Writing打擊過一次了之後

下午的Speaking（因為幾乎每一題都準備了, 幾乎....）

照道理來說呢....Emily應該在一月就考完了

怎麼2月又在考一次呢？？

因為Emily在一月考試的前一天才發現

自己的護照因為辦簽證的關係被收走了....

所以上次就只好放棄考試了.....

在這邊順便奉勸大家

報名考試之後, 請記得考試的時候一定要帶著護照去考場

不然是無法考試的喔！台灣身分證是沒有用的喔！！！！

只差了0.5分的Emily不知道這次能不能過？？

Writing Task one 考到地圖題（同一個地方闡述兩個時間的差別）

Writing Task two 考到Online Shopping 對於Environemnt & Work 有什麼影響

滿新的題目, 也滿符合最近的社會現象

所以雅思考生們大家要對於最近的時事有一定的理解喔！

Speaking Part 2 考了Crowded place

不是這季的新考題, 是之前的考題喔！

所以也不是全部的考關都會考新一季的考題！舊的題目也都要準備喔！

接下來Emily就會先去紐西蘭實習一個禮拜

回來之後就可以直接上碩士先修課程囉！（如果0.5分有過的話....）

已經考過一次的Emily

因為太長時間使用美式英文來寫作

導致上一次每一科幾乎都是 6.5 - 7.0

但是唯獨寫作只有5.5分

所以Emily來雅思工作室之後

明天不知道可不可以順利的用上課的東西通過考試呢？？？？？

本來以為上一次是最後一場考試了

沒想到上次栽在寫作裡面

但是因為等重審實在要等太久了

所以乾脆直接在考一次

不過不知道是Matt的考運太差還是怎樣

今天IELTS Writing Task one

竟然出現了地圖題！！！

是同樣的地方, 兩個年代, 比較兩個年代的變化

地圖題出現的機率這麼的低

竟然還是被Matt碰到了

雖然今天的地圖題是很常見的兩個年份一個區域的變化

但是畢竟地圖描述的方式就跟Line graph, bar chart, pie chart不一樣

所以Matt又花太多時間在思考上面, 所以Writing又沒寫完了～

然後Academic Listening又遇到Section 3的時候CD壞掉

真的是各種的倒楣都發生了....

慶幸的是, Academic Reading都還算簡單

文章不複雜, 題目也算可以

文章有在探討紐西蘭的鐵路歷史

美國的爬山(Hiking)的歷史 [怎麼都是歷史...]

然後最後一篇跟健康相關的打哈欠 (Yawning)

可能最難的大概是最後一篇....的標題

滿多人不知道打哈欠的動詞是Yawn

我想這次應該很多人看到標題應該有點傻眼吧？！

這次只能報著改寫作的考官出手輕一點.........

不然地圖題真的是....對考生來說是個莫大的難關阿！！！！！

最後一場了！

Matt考完最後一場了！！

真不知道Matt是考運不好呢...還是真的準備不夠

IELTS Writing Task two竟然考到 Criminals?!

犯罪議題是比較篇冷門的題目, 所以考古題也不多

所以大家練習到的機會也少

不過這次突然出了Prison is a good way to punish criminals的題目

對Matt來說的確是有點傻眼

IELTS Reading又考到Music

連續兩次都考到Music

然後還有Art跟Vikings?!?!

Matt考完真的是也不知道自己寫了什麼....

還好下午的Speaking只考了

A person who is good at his/her job

算滿中庸的題目

接下來就是連續等兩個成績出來吧！！

終於到了最後衝刺了！

Matt 在9月考試, Reading差了0.5分

努力奮鬥了兩個月左右的時間

今天再度上場了！！！！！

不過...看來Matt的考運好像不是很好....

本來想說只有一科Reading比較差, 需要拼一下分數

結果這次的Reading三篇的題目

Music and Brain, History of dress, Camera

三篇看似簡單但是內文超級多細節的三篇Reading

Matt花了滿多時間在內文裡面找答案

Writing也是有點出乎意料

雖然Writing Task one就是一般的Line Graph

在講Production and Consumption of fuel in China

不過Writing Task two 可就沒這麼簡單了

竟然在講What do you think a perfect society should contain?

什麼？？？Perfect society???

這個跟一般普通的考試題目...好像有點落差喔....

Matt看完Task two 的題目之後...茫然的走出考場去上廁所

回去之後又茫然的把Task two 硬掰給掰完了....

的確滿Unorthodox的, 因為通常Task two 的格式大部分會在Agree & Disagree, Advantage & Disadvantage

或是難一點有discuss both views, problems and solution

但這次這種Perfect Society這種如此抽象的題目.......

真的是滿有挑戰性的衰！！！哈哈哈哈

下午1.40的Speaking, 希望考前前一個晚上在雅思工作室弄出來的一套屬於Matt自己的Speaking模版在下午的Speaking考試可以順利派上用場阿！！

簡稱GRE的數學＋英文的考試

是去美國攻讀碩士以上的學生都要經過的一場考試

準備要去美國攻讀博士的Sam

雖然有在外面的補習班補GRE

但是畢竟大班制有些細節學生沒辦法好好的理解

所以在考托福之前的Sam

在工作室上課的內容就都主攻GRE的英文為主

當然有些數學題目也勉勉強強可以在工作室得到解答

但是畢竟老師不是數學系的....呵呵

明天的目標分數：320！

繼第一次的考試的打擊, 意識到自己英文水準還差一大截之後

Matt & Nina 又認真的準備了將近半年的時間

雖然兩個人都是用下班的剩餘時間來讀書跟上課

中間又經過了兩個人的婚禮請假了快要一個月

的確時間上也不夠充裕....

但是畢竟也到了9月了

離紐西蘭那邊的2020年01月底開學也剩不到多久了

所以兩人先決定在這個時間點先考一次！

如果幸運的話這次就過了～那後面就不用再拼雅思了～

就可以好好來認真的上正式的學術英文了

不過還是要賭點運氣.............

不想要去英國上Pre-Session (語言先修班) 的Hallie

在雅思工作室上一對一密集訓練班之後

趕在6月底考了人生的第一次雅思囉！！

不過考運真的是很差....

當我們都覺得Hallie已經有萬全的準備的時候 (雖然Writing Task one有時候還是有點掉漆...)

正式考試Academic Reading, Listening, Speaking都很順利的過關了

以為會摔很慘的Task one竟然是個簡單的Bar chart

但就是因為Task one太簡單了

Task two 出了一個真的是超級出乎意料之外, 而且也已經很久沒有出現類似的考題了

竟然考了犯罪議題？！？！！？

"Sending criminals to prison is not the best method of dealing with them. 

Education and job training are better ways to help them, do you agree or disagree?"

天啊！！！議題就已經在亂了, 而且又出了會很令人混淆的否定的Agree or Disagree!!!!

亂上加亂阿！！

請大家記住！！Agree or Disagree的議題在平常練習的時候

一定要跟Advantage or Disadvantage切割！！絕對不能混在一起寫！！

在Agree裡面不要寫有Advantage, 相對的在Disagree裡面不要寫Disadvantage

不然遇到這種否定型的Agree or Disagree, 要是考試的當下腦子沒有轉清楚

可能就直接離題了！！！！！！！

現在只能祈禱13天後Hallie的成績出來不要被扣的太多囉....

跟Joy 一樣是要賭運氣的Michael

今天也是繼上禮拜六之後的連續性考試第二場！

今天的考試對Michael 來說偏簡單

Task one 還是又考了Bar Chart了

這次的Task one 考的是汽車數量在歐盟國家，還有一個歐盟平均

已經好幾場都是Bar chart了, 之後也差不多會換題型了....

Task two 的問題也意外的簡單

Children spend a lot of time on computer games, less on doing sport, is this a positive or negative development?

這種簡單的題型意外的跟簡單的Task one 的Bar chart一起出來

這場的Writing分數應該大家都不會太差喔！

Reading則是考了Coffee, El Nino & Language

雖然考了比較不常見的聖嬰現象的環境議題

不過題目似乎相對簡單

Listening反而偏難了

因為Cambridge IELTS 10 - 13的Listening Practice幾乎都只有讓大家練習one word only的題型

但是今天的Listening有出到two words的

雖然Cambridge IELTS 9以前的練習題就早早出過No more than two words

不過對於最近考試的學生如果只有練習10-13的話, 可能這次就會比較吃力一點喔！

所以大家要注意！不是因為Cambridge IELTS 10 - 13的Listening Practice都只出One word only

就代表正式考試就也是One word only喔！！

這次已經是Michael 今年的最後一次機會了

就算上個禮拜沒過, 也希望這禮拜會過了！

Michael 在短期衝刺之後

終於面對了第一場的考試

雖然一次報了兩場

但是還是希望可以第一次就過

這次的寫作Task one 反而意外的簡單

只有單純考了Bar Chart而已

Task two 相對的....當然就難多了....

這次Task two 竟然考了人生問題？！？！？

Focusing on the present is more important than future plan

這種人生問題的Agreement & Disagreement還真的是少見

Michael 一度不知道要用哪些字來寫

不過還好都有寫完

Listening有一部分考聽地圖

也是驚險過關～

現在就等下禮拜六第二次的考試跟再下禮拜五的成績出來囉！

希望可以達到Overall 7.0的水準囉！！

四月真是個不得閒的一個月

繼月初Irene 考完之後

Joy也要在明天25號上場囉！

因為不願意在禮拜天去人擠人所以選擇了禮拜四的考試

目標雖然只有6.0, 不過就Joy的神邏輯......

要穩穩的不隨便加自己的意見在Reading跟Listening裡面真的是頗困難

Irene 在工作室準備了一段時間之後

試著把一些英文跟邏輯上面的東西搞清楚一點之後

終於今天上了考場, 想辦法要把整理清楚之後的英文跟邏輯運用在考試上面

今天的考試, 說實在對Irene 來說其實算順利的

Listening對 Irene來說本來就不是很大的問題

Reading的三篇文章

1. Plastic 

2. An ancient city

3. The smoke emission of cooking indoor or outdoor 

整體來說其實不算難, 環境議題也是雅思常常考的兩個議題

所以練習夠多的話其實駕輕就熟

Writing的Task one & two

Task one 是一張地圖

美術館的平面圖, 比較1995跟現在的差別

Task two 是

Many people like to have food from local areas. Nowadays, there are many people like food from other regions. 

Does the pros of this development outweigh the cos?

Writing Task one 考到地圖, 在Task one裡面算是難度比較高一點的

所以相對的, Task two 出來的題目就會簡單一點, 也比較好發揮

Speaking的部份  

Irene 的Part one 有被問到的有

The area you live

Cooking

Part two 的題目抽到

The place you prefer to study at

Part three 也是接續的part two 的議題

有關Studying的題目

整體來說對 Irene 來說不算太難

但是 Irene的Writing跟Speaking的穩定性很差

所以考完試的當天晚上就立刻決定要報名4th May的考試

因為April的場次都滿了....

不過當然希望 Irene這次可以成績出來就不用再考第二次了！

禮拜六已經考完紙本考試的Chloe

為了早一點拿到成績

今天又加碼報考台中場的雅思學術組的電腦考試

因為是電腦考試, 成績出來的相對的快

不過電腦考試的話, Reading就沒辦法畫重點

Listening也沒辦法先圈關鍵字, 或是聽到什麼就先寫下來

是有一定的風險的

在加上大家在電腦上面打字已經很習慣我們自己電腦上面的自動拼音矯正(Auto spelling correction)

但是雅思電腦考試的Writing打字.....可是沒有這個功能的喔！

打字的時候反而要更小心不要打錯字......

不過Chloe是雅思工作室第一個去考電腦考試的

結果會不會比紙本考試來的好的？

我們就拭目以待吧！

Wayne's IELTS Classroom

考試項目：雅思(IELTS) 學術組(Academic)

跟Matt一起來上課的Nina, 一樣從去年年底開始上課

雖然上課密集度不高, 程度可能也稍微比Matt低一點

不過自己其實也很努力, 雖然文法上面稍微弱了一點

但是反應能力比Matt好許多

兩人都目標為紐西蘭, 講的是英式英文(British English)

所以很多口音跟發音上面的東西都要從頭開始學

不過上過正音班的Nina發音上面很容易就矯正過來了

在短短的幾個月裡面努力拼到今天

雖然反應能力比較好, 不過也沒辦法在考試的緊張情境底下發揮原有的反應能力

Listening的在聽的時候因為太緊張, 幾乎什麼都沒聽到, 然後快要從頭放空放到尾

Reading有時間限制, 剛好最近又是藝術議題, 有一篇就考到哲學家與藝術的關連性

Writing 本來就偏差的Nina, 在時間限制裡面更是寫不出好的文章, 尤其當題目是"電影是只有娛樂價值或是還有教育意義"這種兩個論點又跟藝術議題相關的議題

Nina中午考完之後幾乎是抱著放棄的狀態等下午3.20的口說！雖然Writing Task one是很簡單的長條圖 (Bar Chart)

不過被Listening, Reading, Writing虐完之後, 不知道下午的Speaking會考的怎樣呢？

怎麼說呢....雅思考試其實真的滿吃運氣的

Nina這次就是....運氣差到一個無極限....

這禮拜摩托車壞掉應該就是個預兆了....哈哈哈

期待13天之後的成績吧！
